Forming a family
through adoption provides a lifetime of learning experiences.
Creating enduring ties between family members present unique challenges for those involved.
Adoptive families are entitled to a community of caring people,
well informed professionals, and specialized resources as their
adoption journey unfolds. Education, support and compassion are
vital to the adoption process.
We are adoption
educators that provide consultation, training and support to
families and professionals. We present a balanced, unbiased
approach to understanding adoption’s lifelong issues. SAGE
Workshops is an exempt provider of International Home Studies
and Post Placement Supervision as per Hague Requirements.
Newly
published, SAGE presents
"Creating Enduring Ties: A supportive guide for families in the
adjustment phase of adoption."
This engaging family
building journal in calendar format gives an overview of
typical adjustment issues, while offering helpful translations
to troublesome behaviors, as well as "signs things are
going well." Similar to calendars charting developmental
milestones for infants, "Creating Enduring Ties"
charts
milestones of evolving attachments in adoptive
families.
